<p style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: medium;">The <strong>flame scallop</strong> or <strong>rough fileclam</strong>, <a class="mw-redirect" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_name" title="Scientific name">scientific name</a> <em>Ctenoides scaber</em>, is a species of saltwater clam, a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marine_(ocean)" title="Marine (ocean)">marine</a> <a class="mw-redirect" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bivalve" title="Bivalve">bivalve</a> <a class="mw-redirect" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mollusc" title="Mollusc">mollusc</a> in the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_(biology)" title="Family (biology)">family</a> <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limidae" title="Limidae">Limidae</a> the file clams. Despite their common name, flame scallops are not closely related to true scallops.</p> <p style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: medium;">This species is found in the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caribbean_Sea" title="Caribbean Sea">Caribbean Sea</a>. It is similar in appearance to the Indo-Pacific <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ctenoides_ales" title="Ctenoides ales">electric flame scallop</a> (<em>Ctenoides ales</em>).</p>
